1) A long tale is a part of a curb where the point is very low where people are not buying the product but it reaches a very specific market. They corner the market of distribution. This is a form of cutting out the extra sources and reach customers and wide audiences directly. Retailers like Netflix benefit because viewers are able to "binge" watch shows and now that these viewers may a membership it increases netflix's chances in getting high ratings on new shows, or buying previously aired shows.

2) Alternative media is outside of the mainstream. it does not refer to what we will see on broadcast networks through large corporations. Examples of alternative sources of media are Youtube, Vine, Instagram, Blogging, Tumblr, Soundcloud, Twitter, etc. These websites have aided content created and distribution and marketing.

3) Crowdsourcing is the ability to put out content to attract audiences. As opposed to crowdfunding that depends on audiences contributions in order to create and produce content. An example of crowdsourcing is when a music artist surprises their fans by dropping a surprise album. This is risky but completely relies on the audiences reaction.
